Thanks to the OBSE team for doing such a wonderful job.
Thanks to Scruggsywuggsy the Ferret for his DXtoVK resource.
Credit goes to Ishmael Caine for making the first horse casting mod for spells targeting self.
Credits to RobRendell for giving me the idea of having non-hostile touch spells be cast on the horse.
Thanks to Qazaaq for showing me how to get the camera angle of the player.

1. INSTALLING THE PLUGIN
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The mod comes in a zip file. Use programs like Winzip to open it.
1- Extract the files by running a .zip extraction program. Place all the files into your "Oblivion/Data" folder. Make sure you keep the directory structure. If asked to overwrite, choose "Yes".
2- When launching the game, select data files and check this mod.
3- This mod requires OBSE v0011 or higher. Download OBSE from
http://obse.silverlock.org/. Remember to load Oblivion with the OBSE loader.
4- If you still have Mounted_Steering.esp please delete it. It is already included in Mounted_Trampling.esp and running both at once will cause problems in your game.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
2. UNINSTALLING THE PLUGIN
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Delete Mounted_Spellcasting.esp, Mounted_Trampling.esp, ScriptIcon_Replacer.esp, and this readme from your Oblivion\Data folder.
IMPORTANT: Do not uninstall Mounted_Trampling.esp while you are on a horse. Make sure you are off before doing so or it may screw up your horse's speed.

2. Description
-----------------------------------------------------------------
This mod adds mounted combat to Oblivion.
The Mounted_Trampling.esp allows for a Mount&Blade type steering mechanism for your horse. You press forward to accelerate and backward to slow down and eventually stop. Running into objects will automatically stop your horse. Your horse's turning speed goes down as you accellerate and it goes back up as you slow down. You cannot jump off of a speeding horse.
If you are running fast enough, you'll be able to trample actors you run into. They'll be knocked back and take fatigue and health damage. Trampling is not a crime unless you kill someone with it so running over a few people on the road is alright. You can turn off trampling and just use the steering mechanism of the plugin by typing "Set ToggleTrample to 0" without quotes in the console. Set it to 1 to turn it on again. You can also turn off steering and just use the trampling mechanism by typing "Set ToggleSteering to 0" without quotes in the console. Set it to 1 to turn it on again.
There is a crash detection system in place which would stop your from running if you run into an object but it's imperfect and can get annoying sometimes especially with special, mod-added mounts like Akatosh or the Flying Carpet from Midas Magic so you can disable it by typing "Set ToggleCrashDetection to 0" without quotes in the console. Set it to 1 to enable it again.
There is also a script effect icon replacer esp included in the package that fixes the sounds and lights caused by script effects. It uses an unused icon made by Bethesda.
With Mounted_Spellcasting.esp, you'll be able to cast any spell on horseback just like you would on foot.
Touch spells that are hostile work as short-ranged target spells and when cast, two bolts are shot in front of the player. Non-hostile touch spells are instead directly cast upon your horse so you can cast heal/shield/waterwalk on your horse while riding. Exceptions are spells like charm and calm which are cast like hostile spells rather than onto your horse like other non-hostile touch spells.
Currently this mod supports all spells including custom and mod-added spells.
Casting hostile spells onto civilians will add to your bounty and in some cases will trigger hostile responses from the target.

3. Version History
-----------------------------------------------------------------
* Alpha - added casting animations, support for single effect self/touch/target spells
* Beta - Fixed bugs, added trampling and spell icon, doubled touch spells and make non hostile touch spells be cast on horse, added and fixed steering, added support to multi-effect spells, added casting based on camera direction
* 1.00 - Allowed spells to be cast from any cast key if you have both mouse and keyboard cast keys set, made crash detector for steering much less sensitive so that there's less chance of detecting a crash when there isn't really one, also changed steering to make it take longer to reach full speed, added support to spellcasting for all spells, added hostile reactions, completely rescripted spellcasting, differenciated third and first person casting, now casting from horseback will level your magic skills
* 1.01 - Quick fix for a crash bug by removing skill level increases
* 1.10 - Fixed skill leveling when casting so skill increases are back in. Renovated trampling and merged it with the steering plugin. Fixed the yellow triangle and the collision problems with trampling
* 1.11 - Desensitized crash detection even more and added option to remove it, lowered trample damage, added ability to turn off steering
* 1.12 - Fixed a funny bug where you can trample enemies on foot if steering is turned off

4. Known issues and Compatibility
-----------------------------------------------------------------
* This mod is compatible with all mods and works with any mod-added or custom spells or horses.
* Absorb spells do not affect the player when cast from horseback (ie if you cast absorb health the target takes damage but you don't heal).
* Don't use bound weapon spells while on horseback. Bound armor still works fine.
If you are experiencing weird lights and sounds when moving on horseback, make sure you are using the script icon plugin and make sure that it's loaded after all other mods.
