English-Thread

Why this thread turned down several pages in this forum?
Isn't there anyone who wants to talk English here?

I'm just watching Johnny English...in English :D
('cause, I don't know what to do, so I'm watching a film... )

Apparently Aussie-Englisch isnt accepted at german schools, is it? I'm a bit scared about it, It'd be a bloody big effort to switch again, especially cause the english which is taught on german schools sounds to Amis or Aussies more like Live-Comedy... Trust me ;).

Good on ya,

Nico

You're rgith. The only english, which is thought on german scholls is british english, but some teachers do some American english, too, but not much.

The only english, which is thought on german scholls is british english[...]

You mean, it's taught at german schools, don't you? ;)

We're getting British-English in school, as well, our englishteacher said, that we only want to try to learn british english, as for myself, I don't like American-English...I can't as good understand as British English...

Now I think I made many mistakes in this post...

I agree with tpam (the person above me) but we also learned a few things that are different in Brithish- and in American-English. For example: Britains say "elevator" an Americans say "lift".

I think I made a lots of mistakes in this post, please correct me.

But that can be used for persons or things, so it's still correct.
But now I did many mistakes^^

In the English language it's a special thing with the commas...I can't get this rule -how you have to use them- into my head...
