Chimer, or "Changed Folk," are an extinct race of Mer (elves). They fled from the Aldmeri home of Summerset Isle after their religious conversion, and settled in the land of the Dwemer, later known as Morrowind. But after the "War of the First Council", during which the Dwemer vanished in unexplained circumstances, they were transformed into Dunmer by the Daedra princess Azura as punishment when the Tribunal broke the oath to Nerevar and Azura by making themselves gods. |
