Tja... traurig, hoffmer das sie einen neuen Server finden. Die Daten haben sie alle gesichert und sie sind auf der Suche nach einer Lösung. Naja viele müssten dann wohl viele links umändern (besonders die im offiziellen forum).

[/URL]Hello all,
Unfortunately my first email of the new year will likely be my last for Gaming Source Hosting. Over recent months it has become increasingly obvious that Gaming Source is barely breaking even on it's server payments. Advertising on the internet is in a huge decline and there is no real market for "run-of-network" advertising for gaming networks at this time.
Taking out two major sites on the network, each on their own servers, the network of sites only produces around 40,000 ad impressions daily. Our average CPM for advertising is at $0.05, so if you do the math (40 x $0.05) that's just $2 a day from sites that take up more than 1 server. It's just not sustainable.
It's been great running such a successful network of sites, I've been host to some brilliant sites run by some amazing webmasters but unfortunately I have to pull the plug before it destroys me!
Gaming Source will continue to run on in the form of Source Sites, using the CMS I coded for TESSource last year. The hope is to gradually form a network of low-profile Source sites that work closely with gaming communities in a Web 2.0 environment, but sadly I am having to let go of the hosting aspect of Gaming Source for the time being, or until such time as the online advertising industry picks up for "the small guys".
We will be cancelling GH1 on January the 31st to avoid the bill on the 1st of February. At that point the server will be taken down and your sites will no longer be accessible. Please make sure you have backups of your sites and your SQL databases since there will be no way of retrieving them after this date.
Thank you for your patronage, support and great work over the past 4 years and I wish you and your site every success in the future.
Best regards,
Robin Scott
